Purpose: A glanceable operating manual for improving Connex Digital’s SEO (rankings + clicks) and GEO (getting cited in AI answers).
Quick hits (do these first)
Fix the fundamentals (highest ROI)
- Ensure every important page has a unique Meta Title (50–60 chars) and Meta Description (150–160 chars).1
- Ensure pages lead with a clear, direct answer in the first paragraph and use clean H2/H3 structure for scannability and AI parsing.1
- Add descriptive image captions as alt text (Bullet uses captions as alt tags).1
- Build internal links so hubs → posts → pages reinforce topical authority.1
SEMrush “north star” metrics to watch
Daily / weekly operating cadence
Daily (10–15 minutes)
- Check Position Tracking for big movers (drops and sudden gains).2
- If a priority keyword drops, review the SERP quickly and capture:
- What type of page is winning (guide, tool page, list, comparison).
- Whether AI-overview-style snippets are appearing (a GEO signal).
- Add 1–3 “next actions” to your backlog (content update, new internal link, add missing FAQ section).
Weekly (60–90 minutes)
- Expand / refine the tracked set: keep it under 100 “money” keywords until the workflow is stable.
- Review:
- Keyword cannibalization (multiple Connex pages fighting for the same query).
- SERP intent changes.
- Content gaps for topic clusters.
- Run a content refresh sweep on the top 3–5 pages tied to the most important keywords.
How to use SEMrush (glanceable playbook)
1) Keyword research + selecting the right 100 keywords
Goal: Build a small, high-signal keyword set that maps cleanly to pages you can realistically win.
Selection criteria (use in this order):
- Relevance: the current SERP matches what Connex offers (service pages, app pages, guides).3
- Intent: prioritize commercial / high-intent terms for service pages, and informational terms for blog/hub content.
- Difficulty: prefer lower KD% early so you can “stack wins” faster.4
- Value: use CPC as a hint for commercial value when choosing between similar keywords.3
- Topical authority fit: choose clusters where Connex can publish multiple pieces and interlink them (GEO and SEO both benefit).1
Practical method (repeatable):
- Start with seed topics (e.g., Notion automation, Zapier agency, Make.com consultant, workflow automation).
- Pull variations + question modifiers (how, best, vs, pricing, examples, templates).
- Shortlist candidates, then manually check SERPs for intent match.
- Map each keyword to one primary page (avoid cannibalization).
- Store the final list in Keyword Goals (Source = SEMRush) and add to Position Tracking.
2) Add the final keyword set to Position Tracking
3) “AI questions” (GEO) workflow
Goal: Track the questions real people ask AI, then publish pages that answer them in a citation-friendly way.
- Convert high-intent keywords into question forms:
- “How do I automate X with Y?”
- “What is the best way to integrate X and Y?”
- “X vs Y for automation: which should I choose?”
- For each page targeting a question:
- Lead with the answer in the first paragraph.
- Add a short FAQ section with 3–6 tight Q/As.
- Define entities clearly (tools, platforms, use cases) so AI can quote safely.1
4) Automated reporting (Position Tracking + Content recommendations)
Goal: Produce a repeatable weekly report that turns SEMrush outputs into tasks.
Recommended report sections:
- Position Tracking summary: Visibility, avg position, top winners/losers, keyword groups by intent.2
- Content opportunities: pages/keywords with high impressions but low CTR (meta rewrite candidates).
- On-page upgrade list: missing FAQs, thin sections, missing examples, no internal links.
Automation target: export on a schedule (weekly) to a Google Sheet or email, then push:
- tracked keywords → Keyword Goals database
- recommendations → a future “Suggestions” database
What to do today (concrete checklist)
Today (90 minutes)
- Pick 5 seed topics and generate 20 candidate keywords each.
- Cut to the best 100 using relevance + intent + difficulty.
- Add them to Position Tracking.
- Record the same set in Keyword Goals so we can automate updates.
This week
- Create one standard weekly SEMrush report and turn every insight into a task.
- Prioritize pages where you can quickly fix:
- missing meta title/description
- weak first paragraph
- missing internal links
Connex-specific notes
Align with existing Connex SEO operating system
- The existing SEO optimizer guidelines already call out:
- meta title/description standards
- heading structure
- first-paragraph clarity
- internal linking for topic clusters
- GEO principles for AI citation
(all of which should inform your SEMrush-driven workflow).1
Competitors
for the Videos condsider what is said in this loom video:
YouTube recommendations (from Loom audit)
- Put the primary CTA link first in the description so viewers do not need to click “See more” and scroll.
- Keep it simple and obvious.
- If you have 2 offers, list both clearly as the first 2 links.
- Optimize each video for one primary keyword (YouTube SEO) so it can rank for high-volume, low-competition terms.
- Pick a target keyword per video.
- Align the title with that keyword (current titles are not optimized for ranking).
- Build a consistent tag structure.
- Write a keyword-aligned description (not just a generic blurb).
- Use repeatable “formulas” instead of posting raw videos.
- Standardize topic framing and structure so videos are easier to understand and more likely to be recommended.
- Improve conversion path from viewer → lead.
- The main goal is not subscribers alone.
- Track how many leads and clients are coming from YouTube (not just views/subscribers) so you can optimize what actually drives revenue.
- Increase consistency of posting.
- The channel shows periods of strong consistency, then gaps.
- Consistency supports both audience growth and the algorithm.
- Tighten positioning and content structure.
- Improve how the content is structured.
- Improve the editing and packaging (including thumbnails) to drive higher CTR and retention.
- Build a simple weekly workflow.
- Batch-record 1–3 hours per week.
- Have a repeatable system for editing, thumbnails, posting, and SEO.
Loom video Transcript
0:00 Hey Paul, hope you're doing absolutely amazing. So in this video, as I said, I basically want to show you the 2026 YouTube strategy that could work very well for you, helping you grow on YouTube, build more authority in your space, and actually get more high-ticket clients.
0:05 So let me just jump straight into it. Here's some of the clients that we helped grow in the agency space, like for example, Nick, who we helped go from just 1.4k to now over 60,000 subscribers.
0:23 We helped him actually sign over 30 clients from YouTube in just the first year of working together. So that's before the channel was even that big.
0:28 You can see today he has a 50% close rate on 10k packages. And made over seven figures in net profit in just 2020 for a loan from YouTube or like from the clients he signed from YouTube.
0:38 There's also Justin, who we helped go from 400 to 26,000 subscribers. And we helped him attract 10 to 20 qualified calls booked with his ideal clients.
0:45 There's also Robin in the Google Ads space, who we helped go from just 1,000 to 3,000 clients. So just over subscribers in four months get like insane amount of clients from YouTube, up to 5,000 clients.
0:52 I know you actually Uh, you are like more consistent here. We're recording. So actually there was a lot of content posted here, but then right now we would not posting that, uh, that frequently.
1:04 But it seems like you're still see value in doing YouTube. And also I see the tone of potential in your space, because even when I was doing my research, I just took like this video here, and then I just typed in like build AISMS agent as a keyword here.
1:16 You can see the volume very high competition is very low. It's like on YouTube to grow and attract your ideal clients.
1:23 I'm curious to see like, what are your numbers in terms of, because like, I can see how many subscribers we're getting and can see how many views we're getting, but what I don't see is how many leads and clients are actually signing from YouTube.
1:31 And that's something that's really interesting to me. But again, I see a lot of potential in this space and those videos here are getting a ton of views.
1:36 They're doing really a lot of things, you know, like, if they're doing a lot of things right, you can see they're getting a lot of views.
1:40 There's actually your video as well here, but I see that you only go to 126 views, but it's still a recent video, so maybe it's gonna go, like, it's gonna perform better over time as well.
1:49 There's still a potential here, but there's also some things that I see that might be holding. I think you're back from actually getting those results.
1:54 So, a few things. And again, especially those recent videos, I know that I see that you're not really leveraging, like, formulas on YouTube, you're just posting those, like, raw videos.
2:01 But then, the main thing I want to talk about is YouTube SEO, because it seems like a lot of those videos could actually be, like, I showed you this word here, for example.
2:08 But actually, it rank for what you're working on was at number one, number two. You need to do it as a YouTube SEO word.
2:12 I actually optimize those videos so that they rank for the specific keywords. Then I click on your video. Again, just to show you, um, if you take a look at that video here, it seems like they were structuring your tags, but then also the description of the video.
2:24 The title is not optimal to actually get ranked for those keywords. So that's the first thing. Now, second thing, when it comes to conversions, it's also a bit, um, not gonna say all over the place, but right now when I go here, you actually did a better job here in the past because when I come to the
2:38 video and I watch the video and maybe I'm interested in. Okay, in this video, I also don't see that, but there was one video where I actually saw that you have the right strategy.
2:45 So basically, you just have the first thing in the description. It was a link to work with you because right now, even if I like the video and I want you to maybe build a system for me, I need to go to, uh, click, click on see more and then scroll down here, find the right way.
2:56 The light link and actually call. What is better for, like, what works really good for our clients is to have a very simple structure.
3:04 For me, he actually has two offers. So you can see, uh, okay, this was the victim of someone else. So that's why he also did, uh, this, um, I was like, Instagramming at the first thing.
3:12 You can. See here, first the links are basically, have Nick Terrier runner at and have Nick Terrier mentor. So he's two, two offers.
3:18 And so that's very important as well for the conversion perspective. If you want people to actually click on the link and then become a possibly become client, you really need to do that on YouTube.
3:25 You that's the one thing. And then also I see some things from the perspective of the formulas that you're doing, the whole positioning, but also the actual content, how you structure it, the editing that you have in it.
3:36 So there's definitely some more things I could talk about that you could possibly improve here to almost instantly get better results.
3:40 But again, I'm not sure how that the numbers looks like on the back end. But just to show you like.
3:44 I've actually helped this client I showed you here and like all the other clients that I showed you in the results section as well.
3:48 We actually make it very easy for them by usually taking care of everything. So the only thing that they need to do is just film the videos.
3:53 So they literally just spend one, two, maybe three hours a week recording content and then we come in and take care of the whole.
3:58 We do the whole audit and the strategy. We create a content plan. We can also show you specifically what to record and how to record it.
4:03 We guide you through the content creation part to make the videos as good as the economy. And after that we really handle everything else for you.
4:09 Like editing, thumbnail design, YouTube SEO posting. So we do that for you. And in the end we actually help you convert the viewers who are getting into actual paying clients.
4:12 So that's also, That's basically the whole system. We don't want you to, don't want you to just end up with a lot of users and subscribers and no paying clients from YouTube.
4:21 We actually want to make sure that in the end the main thing we're optimizing for is that you guys are getting more views, more leads and clients from YouTube.
4:24 So that basically what the process looks like. Now I don't want to make this video long and boring, but if you'd like to see how we can, to help you grow your YouTube channel and actually get more clients there, I would love to jump in a quick whole of you.
4:33 So that said, we know what time could work or down below this video. I'm going to leave a link to my kindly so you can just pick a time there.
4:38 But if you have any questions first, if you'd like to see some of those, uh, client results or maybe some more testimonials from our clients or you can also go to our website again, check out some more.
4:48 Check out our YouTube channels because we actually practice what we preach. You can tell our YouTube channels like me and my, my, my, my, this partner.
4:52 So that's basically it. Hope you have an amazing rest of the day. And then I'll be, then I'll be looking forward to chatting with you soon.
